Ashvin is an Oscar nominee for Little Terrorist which was also nominated at the European Film Academy Awards, a honorable mention at BAFTA/LA and won over twenty-four top honours in over two hundred international film festivals. He is a two-time National award winner for his Kashmir series, Inshallah, football and Inshallah, Kashmir, and has also directed Road to Ladakh (Irrfan Khan), Dazed in Doon, The Forest (Jaaved Jaffery), UNHCR commissioned documentary, I Am not Here, and 4 Daughters in Kashmir.
2021
Ashvin began working as a director in theatre and founded one of the rest digital post-production studios in India in 1996. He is a voting member of the European Film Academy and TEDx speaker. He mentors aspiring film-makers, inviting them to be a part of his film-crew and enjoys sharing his passion for filmmaking.

2020
Ashvin’s upcoming projects are “Swift Desire”, a romantic feature film and a slate of four features - a farcical-comedy, thriller, drama and coming-of-age film. He is in early development with a series set in the 1800s between India, Britain and France. He will soon be teaching film-making in a series of online film-making classes for aspiring filmmakers on YouTube in 2021.

Ashvin began working as an actor & director in theatre and founded one of the first digital post-production studios in India in 1996. He is a voting member of the European Film Academy. His latest feature film, No Fathers in Kashmir was released to glowing reviews both India (2019) and the UK (2020).
